While scientists are still trying to find out why two similar people who become infected with COVID-19 can have very different outcomes, we want to concentrate on what we know to help fight it.

Pre-existing medical conditions and medications:
Medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, malnutrition, untreated HIV, some cancers, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis as well as medication for treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases are found to lower the natural ability of our body to fight infection.
Other more controlled factors: stress, sleep, diet

Smoking and vaping
As a former smoker I can relate to the difficulties you may have trying to quit, but have in mind that smoking affect directly our ability to fight off diseases that target the lungs, like COVID-19.
Although it’s still not clear why men appear to be more vulnerable to COVID-19 infection than women, some experts theorize that smoking could be a factor, since men are likelier than women to be smokers.
Oral Health
Now, more than ever is important to keep good oral hygiene. The mouth is connected to many other parts of the body and bacterial infection can create immune imbalance and complicate other systemic problems. The mouth is one of the main entrance to the lungs.
Start with changing or disinfecting your toothbrush.
