Using Innovative Dentistry for Happier Smiles

Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Visits to the dentist these days are a comfortable experience, requiring less time and creating more satisfying results. The biggest credit for that goes to the new technology and techniques. The combination of both enhanced your experience in every way, from early and accurate diagnostic to easier treatment with better results. At Advanced Dentistry of Alhambra, we are heavily invested in technology. The following are some of the everyday technology used in our dental office.

TMJ/TMD Therapy

Jaw and skull bone x-rays

Your jaw joint, called the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), is one of the most complex in your body, and when you experience pain or discomfort there, it can affect important functions like eating. Luckily, using occlusal splints or other therapies we offer treatment that can alleviate your symptoms and make sure your smile and jaw are healthy and aligned correctly. If you’re suffering from jaw pain, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team!

CEREC Technology

CEREC system and logo

With your busy schedule, having CEREC technology right here in our dental office means that you can save significant time and avoid the need to wear a temporary crown. Cerec digital technology allows us to quickly restore damaged tooth in just one dental office visit using ceramic, metal-free, material that matches the natural color of the other teeth.

Intraoral Camera

Dentist capturing intraoral images

Have you ever been told that you have a crack or a cavity on the back tooth, you wished you could see it for yourself? With this mini camera that goes inside of your mouth, we capture images of your teeth without any radiation. Our intraoral cameras allow you to see exactly what we see inside your mouth so that you can make more informed decisions about your dental care and stay on the top of your oral hygiene.

Digital X-Rays

Dentist looking at tooth x-rays

In the past, traditional X-rays required time and the use of harsh chemicals to develop in order to see what isn’t apparent to the naked eye. However, nowadays we use digital x-rays, which are more comfortable and accurate. Not only do we get an instant image, but the digital technology exposes you to up to 80 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays. Thanks to digital imaging we can discover decay and potential problem in earlier stage, which allows us early treatment and more predictable result.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

As accurate and helpful as digital X-rays are, sometimes for more complicated treatment we need 3D x-rays. That’s where a CT/cone beam scanner comes in. This device captures and compiles many images to form a precise 3D model of the oral cavity, which is particularly useful for planning dental implant placement or root canal treatment. By using this technology, we can make sure that your procedure is successful.

Digital Impression System

Digital impressions on chairside computer

Instead of putty impressions, our team at Advanced Dentistry of Alhambra uses a digital impression system to collect the data needed to create restorations, oral appliances, and models of your teeth. This system is more comfortable and ensures that everything fits right the first time.

Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry

Patient receiving laser dentisty treatment

Sometimes, the problem has nothing to do with your teeth but is with your gums. Gum disease is a serious condition and requires thorough treatment to eliminate and protect your smile, which is why we use a soft tissue laser. This gentle technology enables us to remove infected tissue with little to no pain or bleeding. Also, this laser can be used to address and balance out a “gummy smile.” In any case, a soft tissue laser allows your gums to heal more quickly than traditional methods of handling gum issues.

The use of lasers in the field of dentistry has allowed dentists to perform a wider variety of dental procedures that they otherwise may not be able to perform. The advantage are: minimal bleeding, faster healing, anti-inflammatory effect, no stitches are required, very little local anesthetic is necessary.

VelscopeVx

Velscope oral cancer screening tool

VELscope provides the most minimally-invasive technology available for assisting in the discovery of oral abnormal tissue. VELscopes play a major role in the early detection of such tissue abnormalities. These handheld, wireless scopes use the natural fluorescence of oral tissue to amplify the visualization of anomalies that can be missed entirely by a visual screening. These scopes are vital in the fight against oral cancer.

SprintRay 3D Printer

3D printer with dental impression

Our SprintRay 3D printer allows our team to provide in-house services that used to require a separate lab. Not only does this save you plenty of time, but this device also improves the overall quality of your care. It enables us to fabricate same-day Invisalign clear aligners, mouthguards, temporary dentures, surgical guides, and much more right before your eyes.

Since this software converts digital scans to printable files in just a matter of seconds, we’re able to finish large, complex cases very quickly. Throughout the process, we can monitor all printing parameters and get on-board help as needed. The advanced software makes 3D printing all kinds of dental appliances for treatment a breeze! With just the click of a button, we’ll have your custom-made oral appliances ready for you to use by the end of your appointment.

By having complete control of the printing process, we can ensure the highest quality outcome. And if any adjustments need to be made, we can make them right here in our office!
